Have you participated in a used car auction?  Do you feel attracted to make a purchase by attending one?  Many first timers who try their luck in this field end up losing terribly.  You need to be fully equipped with information on all aspects touching it.

Remember that when buying from used car auctions, not all used car auctions are same.   Some are held for different types of products along with used cars.  There are sole auctions   for used cars.  In order to select from a variety of used cars, go for an auction meant exclusively for used cars.

If you are on the look out for a car to be used personally, opt for the public used car auction. Here anybody is free to walk in, look at.the cars displayed and make a bid on any used car.  Another point to remember is that you must know exactly which type of used car auction you intend to participate in.  There are auctions that demand a dealership license proof.

Get an overall idea about the modus operandi of such auctions.  Do make proper checking/inspection before fixing on a particular vehicle.  Do not attend auctions that does not allow pre checking and demands spot buying.  These might some times be a costly mistake from your part.  Participate in auctions that allow pre checking before the actual auction date.  Check up for the auctioning houses’ website.   You could collect more information from here.

Fix on the mode of payment and the method they accept payment.  This should be done well in advance of the sale.  Same methods are not prevalent in  all auctions.  Examine the methods of payment and clarify whether it is through  credit cards, or cash itself, or through certified checks.  Rarely, you could find   auctioning houses that undertakes financing for  you.  Some may even accept personal checks.

Get in touch with an auction representative to get details from.  Collect details on all concerned areas.  Clarify on such important aspects like the documentation procedures needed when you buy through auctions.  Some auctioning houses allows all these even before the auction date. You should register with the nearest local Department of Motor Vehicles(DMV) after buying from auction.  For this, an ownership proof is needed.  Generally most established auction houses would provide the documents required for the smooth transfer of ownership.  Again, be on the safe side by doing verification well in advance.

Finally,  choose the auto auction to participate carefully.  Go for established auction houses auction.
